After 5 years of making videos about sustainability, I’m excited to FINALLY begin my lifelong dream; I’m Making My House 100% Off-Grid! I want to produce all my own electricity, get rid of natural gas, and eventually even produce my own water! But my house is 50 years old and terribly inefficient. My bills are through the roof, and this is quite the challenge.
But this video isn’t about me, it’s about YOU! If you’ve ever wanted to track your usage and get cool tech and gadgets, solar panels, or batteries, you’ve come to the right place. Over the next few years, I am going to completely upgrade this home to be net-zero. That means no importing electricity or water, and ditching natural gas altogether.
Is this even possible? I honestly have no clue, but I am going to give it a shot and share all my findings with you. Some things will be worth it, while other things, won’t. Some products will be strongly recommended, and others will be disappointments. But every single thing we do and learn we will collect into the one resource on the internet for all your self-reliance, emergency preparedness, and environmentally friendly needs!
